Exploration of California's Open Spaces

Open Space Districts are set up to preserve public land that does not fall under other agencies such as the State and County park systems. They are organized to serve local districts. Their purpose is to create regional greenbelts of unspoiled public open space lands in order to permanently protect the area's natural resources for public use and enjoyment.
