The parking lot is found immediately after you pass the park kiosk. Although this is a large parking area, the popularity of this park is so great that it can be quite difficult to find a parking space on the weekends. The moral is that if you come on the weekends, be sure to come early. The start of the trail is marked by a large signpost. This attests to the trail's popularity, as no other trail in the park is so ostentatiously marked.
