After a brief ascent, Escape road heads down to the farthest picnic area from the park headquarters. Soon a gate can be seen crossing the road that bars auto traffic. This marks the furthest possible public automobile access. Excellent picnic areas can now be found on both sides of the road. By packing a lunch in your day pack, a peaceful, private, and very unique picnic can be had.
