More Evidence of El Niņo

Trail Thoughts and Musings

Framed by redwood survivors, the trail opens up to yet another vista of felled trees. More than 300 trees were toppled by the storms brought on by the weather phenomenon know as El Niņo. Once again, heroic effort was required to re-open the trail. When viewed through the mist and rain, this scene becomes mystic and surreal. It is as if the spirits of the fallen trees have gathered for a final farewell.
