As protected as this isolated canyon might appear, it was not immune to the power of this year's El Niņo storms. Fallen trees and the scattered wreckage of Big Basin's vegetation can be seen strewn across the creek's basin. It is hard to decide what was brought here by the raging creek, and what originally called this place home.
