While gaining elevation, the trail has left Waddell Creek in the canyon below. This does not mean that its presence is not still felt. The joyful sound of it as it tumbles down to the sea is constantly present. In addition, breaks in the vegetation allow glimpses to be had as it frolics along its streambed. Be ready to take advantage when such opportunities are available. Here the creek rejoices in its freedom.
