Rock of Gibraltar and the Octopus Forest

After descending the canyon, the trail enters a small clearing with a providentially placed picnic table. Off to the right is a formation known as the Rock of Gibraltar. Although it bears little resemblance to its namesake, it is an impressive formation. Here it looks as if it is surrounded by an octopus, tentacles waving.
