It seems strange to have ascended the bare outcropping and watched the Kings River plunging over cascades and waterfalls only to find yourself in a gentle forested valley. Except for being more confined, it is not much different from the valley from which you started. However, the path is more gentle and the river is impressive, so enjoy this tranquil interlude.
