Walking Down Jones Trail

Trail Thoughts and Musings

This portion of the trail follows the historic alignment of Jones Road, which was used in the last century by stage coaches and pack teams. When the reservoir was built in 1952, inundating the towns of Lexington and Alma, the alignment was re-opened as Jones Trail. This route was used by the California mission founders and by the native Ohlone people as much as a thousand years ago.
