What would this area look like it if the madness of one man had not started the destruction at 12:50 p.m. on that hot August day? The fire was stopped at the edge of the town of Burney which is 11 miles to east of here. This picture of the forest as it stands today by Burney will give an idea of what was lost in 1992.
