An abrupt transition from bright sun to leaf filtered shade occurs almost instantaneously. Gone are the sweeping vistas to be replaced with an introspective communion with these venerable, gnarled, and twisted trees. The trail is well maintained and interesting glimpses of the canyon bottom can be had. The emerald green moss attests to the moist riparian micro climate.
