It soon becomes clear that the connector trail will gain almost as much elevation as climbing to the top of Nevada Falls. Here a close up of Nevada Falls reveals that you are almost level with it. Unlike Vernal Falls, Nevada Falls catapults through a narrow slot eroded in the cliff face. This gives it the appearance of a horsetail falls which starts out narrow and broadens as it falls to the canyon floor.
