The trail now climbs over a rocky shoulder of Pine Mountain. After bushwhacking through several sections of the trail, this clear area is a welcome respite. If the park service continues to ignore this trail, it may become impassable in a few years. That would be a loss, because there are some outstanding vistas that can be seen along this trail.
