Continuing to follow the trail north, it begins to narrow and the vegetation closes in on the hiker. It is the portion of trail that brings a more personal association with the lush plant communities that make up Big Basin's many varied micro climates. Here the trees and understory plants crowd in on the traveler, making the trail a more intensely personal adventure.
