Sunset trail now begins its ascent to the top of the next ridge. Before it ends at Berry Creek trail it will drop once more to a canyon bottom and climb to the top of one more ridge. That is what makes this hike a strenuous one. Although the trail can be relentless, there is always some new wonder to take the hiker's attention away from climb.
