Since the Ridge trail is at a higher elevation than the Saratoga Gap trail, it is to be expected that the trek along the Connector trail would have to be a descent. It is, but the drop is so gradual, that at times it is like a stroll through an orchard. Of course, it is an oak grove instead of apple grove.
