Along the top of the IXL Kilns

Cape Horn trail travels along the top of the kilns. From this vantage point you can look down into the interior of the three kilns. They were constructed by the IX Lime Company, of granite blocks, sometime in the early 1870s. The limestone deposit is located on Blue Cliff, 300 yards west and 250 feet above the kilns.
