The Fremont Tree

According to legend, the famous western explorer General John C. Fremont camped in the hollow base of this tree when he was a young lieutenant. It has been named the Fremont Tree in his honor. You can see that the fire scar is filling in and eventually the tree will completely heal itself, though it will be hollow.
