Even though some years ago a strong wind broke off a piece of the top of this tree almost 75 feet long, it is still the tallest tree in the grove. It is nearly 285 feet tall and about 51 feet in circumference. Before it lost its top, its height would have exceeded the "Mother of the Forest" in Big Basin State Park, which is the tallest tree there.
