Ascent to the Ridge

Trail Thoughts and Musings

Once past the pond, the trail ducks back into an oak forest. It is this tree covered hill that must be ascended to reach Long Ridge road and the vistas for which this park is famous. The price to be paid is the effort required to climb a series of switchbacks. The first of these can be seen ahead, framed by two large oak trees.
