Trail Thoughts and Musings
The trail climbs the hill in a series of well-designed switchbacks. Most of the trail is covered in forest but there are some open stretches of grass meadows. About half way up am ancient oak tree is encountered which has at last succumbed to time and weather. It frames a farewell view of the lake below. The view invites one to pause and rest before continuing the climb to the ridge top.
