Now back in dense forest growth, the trail continues its relentless climb. These well-designed switchbacks help mitigate the effort required for the ascent. In addition, since this part of the trail is less than half a mile in length, most persons of average ability should be able to complete the hike to the ridge top. Just keep saying "the views are worth it" because they are.
