The parking lot is located on Highway 89 about a mile past the large Lassen Peak parking area. Since Lassen Peak and Bumpass Hell are the two most popular trails in the park, expect these lots to fill up early. The boulder pictured here demonstrates the power of a glacier. This "glacial erratic" is a large block of dacite from Bumpass Mountain carried here by the ice flow.
