Although this stalwart boulder is the most impressive object seen from the parking lot, it has little to do with the trail itself. Look along the east edge of the lot for the signs that mark the beginning of the trail. The hike starts with a quick initial descent and then levels off to a gentle walk through terrain that is strewn with both rocks and vegetation.
