After carefully treading the narrow and rocky ledge across the cliff face, the top of Vernal Falls is reached. The area on top is rocky and on a sunny day you will see many hikers stretched out to rest and dry off. By following the railing to the brink of the falls an impressive view can be obtained of the Merced river plunging down the face of the granite cliff.
